Weekly Announcements Dec. 11th 2019

Hello Striders!

Congrats to:

  • Karen Anderson Pattelena for helping her team win a brick on Sunday at Mill Cities. This was her first race back with the club after kicking cancer’s ass. Welcome back Karen!!

If you or anyone you know has run a PR or had a significant accomplishment, please let me know!

Good Luck to all of the PAL XC runners at Nationals this weekend out in Wisconsin!

While we came up just a point short of winning Mill Cities this year, I’m damn proud of everyone who took part. Heard from many of you out on the course that you beat what you thought you were going to run on Sunday. Nice work! The next streak starts in 2020!

We’ve reserved a theater for a private screening of Star Wars – The Rise of Skywalker! Come join your GCS friends for a Friday night showing of the latest (and last) in the skywalker series. Buy your tickets here: First come, First served

We are currently looking for nominations for our annual awards. Know of a club member who has had a great year making a significant improvement, has come back from injury or a setback, has been a great supportive teammate, among other awards. Please nominate them here: You do not have to nominate someone for every award, however, if you do nominate someone, please write a small blurb on why.

We will once again have a bus heading down for the Boston Marathon. You can reserve your spot by paying $65 / seat ($75 after Feb 15th) to Dan Dugan. Checks payable to GATE CITY STRIDERS and mailed to Marathon Bus, 22 Cabot Dr, Nashua NH 03064. Or Venmo Dan at Dan-Dugan-99. Please include Name of Runner, Phone Number, E-mail Address, Emergency Contact Name, Emergency Contact Number, Any concerns you won’t make it to Hotel by 5:30PM? Any questions, message Dan Dugan
